Peplife attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. In this privacy statement we explain which data we process, for what purpose, on what legal basis and what rights you have. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process
Depending on your use of our website, we process:
- Order data: name, delivery address, billing address, email address, telephone number.
- Payment data: processed via our payment service provider; we ourselves do not receive full card details.
- Account data: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Communication: messages you send us via email, WhatsApp or the contact form.
- Assessment data: if you leave a review, your name (or chosen display name), email address and the content of your review.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and website usage data.
- Newsletter data: your email address if you subscribe.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process your data for:
- Fulfilling your order and delivery — legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Customer service and communication — basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest.
- Complying with legal obligations (such as administration and the statutory tax retention obligation) — basis: legal obligation.
- Sending newsletters — basis: your consent (revocable via any newsletter).
- Inviting and publishing customer reviews — after a completed order we invite you once to leave a review about your purchase and our service. Legal basis: legitimate interest (improving our products and service and informing future customers). You can opt out of this at any time via the instruction in the email or via privacy@peplife.eu.
- Improving and securing our website — legal basis: legitimate interest.
4. Disclosure to third parties (processors)
We share data only with service providers that process data on our behalf, on the basis of processor agreements. These include, among others:
- Payment service provider — for processing payments.
- Hosting provider (Strato) — for hosting the website and email traffic.
- Email and newsletter software (MailPoet) — for transactional email and newsletters.
- Analytics and security services (including Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare) — for website statistics, spam prevention on forms and security. This may involve data being processed outside the EU; in that case we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
- Carrier — for the delivery of your order.
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Transfer outside the EU
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case we ensure appropriate safeguards in accordance with the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
6. Retention periods
We do not store your data longer than necessary. Order and invoice data we retain in accordance with the statutory tax retention obligation (seven years). Account data we retain as long as your account is active. Newsletter data we retain until you unsubscribe. Published reviews we retain as long as they are displayed on our website.
7. Cookies
Our website uses functional, analytical and — with your consent — tracking cookies. Functional cookies are necessary for the operation of the webshop. We place analytical and tracking cookies (such as Google Analytics) only after your consent via the cookie banner. You can adjust your preferences at any time.
To collect and display customer reviews, we work together with Trustpilot. When you visit our website, Trustpilot may place third-party cookies in order to display reviews and verify their authenticity. After you have placed an order, we share your name, email address and order number with Trustpilot, so that they can invite you by email, on our behalf, to leave a review. Trustpilot processes this data on the basis of its own privacy policy (available at trustpilot.com). You can adjust your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access to your personal data;
- Rectification of inaccurate data;
- Erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restriction of processing;
- Objection to processing;
- Portability of your data (data portability);
- Withdrawing previously given consent.
To submit a request, please contact us via privacy@peplife.eu. We respond within the statutory period. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (SSL/HTTPS) and secured access to our systems.

We may amend this privacy statement from time to time. The most current version is always available on this page.
