This database compiles the key physicochemical and research data of 67 peptides and related research substances from the scientific literature: molecular weight, indicative plasma half-life, substance class and research or approval status. All data come from public sources (including PubChem, DrugBank, UniProt and peer-reviewed literature) and are intended solely for in-vitro laboratory research (Research Use Only). Values marked with a dagger are poorly characterised or estimates; half-life varies greatly by model system and measurement method.

Peptide database A–Z
Research status reflects the scientific development stage, not sellability: Approved medicine = holds a marketing authorisation somewhere (often prescription-only); In clinical research = studied in humans but not yet approved; Preclinical or RUO = laboratory research only, without approval; Cosmetic or Supplement = outside the medicines framework.

Frequently asked questions
What does the half-life of a peptide mean?
The plasma half-life is the time in which the concentration of the substance in the plasma of a model system falls by half. It is a pharmacokinetic property from research; the values here are indicative and model-dependent.
Why does the molecular weight differ by source?
Small differences arise from salt forms, modifications such as acylation or PEGylation, or calculation from the amino-acid sequence. We show the most common value of the free substance.
What does Preclinical or RUO mean?
That the substance has only been studied in laboratory or animal research and has no approval as a medicine. Research Use Only: not for human or veterinary use.
